2015, July - The Smokestack opens the first floor to the public

The Smokestack opens as a bar on the first floor of the building purchased by Scott Cornwell & Susan Price.

The second level and its balcony opened in April 2017 and in September 2017, the third level rooftop opened up.

“We opened the different levels of the building in stages as we are not wealthy people and we were not allowed meaningful financial incentives for this project by government entities as many might wish to believe. We personally did as much of the work as allowed by law and we successfully achieved code compliance on this challenging property” - Susan Price, owner

The Smokestack has been active in the arts as an incredible host to many art exhibits listed in this timeline since early 2018.

“…beginning March 2018, we regularly mount a "left it at Smokestack" rotating art show featuring the works of local artists who forgot to pick up their art after a show closed, some pieces on loan from Andrew Raeside and Rachel Spurling, and a few pieces from our personal collection.” - Susan Price, owner
